Atalanta are expected to submit today an opening bid to sign Lens centre-back Kevin Danso (25), according to a report this Wednesday from L’Equipe. The Artois side are hoping for a €25m windfall from the sale of the Austria international defender, who is under contract with the Ligue 1 club until 2027. The outlet understands that the UEFA Europa League winners’ bid for Danso ranges between €20m and €25m and that Atalanta are the first club to concretely come forward to acquire Danso’s services.
Danso was an integral of Franck Haise’s RC Lens in the past three seasons and the Artois side have agreed to part ways with the 25-year-old this summer. Atalanta reportedly see Danso as a perfect fit for Gian Piero Gasperini’s trademark three-man defense. L’Equipe adds that Danso is yet to agree on personal terms with Atalanta, which will play the UEFA Super Cup tonight against Real Madrid in Warsaw and feature in the UEFA Champions League following their Europa League triumph.
