Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has assured that the club's players and coaching staff would understand if they had to take a temporary pay cut.
This is due to the impact that coronavirus has had on football, with everything having ground to a halt as a result of the disease.
"We have spoken to our players and they are aware of what is happening," Cerezo told Radio MARCA.
"I know that neither them nor the coaching staff will have any problems [with potential temporary pay cuts]."
It still remains unclear when LaLiga Santander will get back underway, but Cerezo does not want to make any predictions.
"We do not know how this will evolve and it is not worth saying now that LaLiga will be resumed in May, because we do not know," he noted.
Madrid has been one of the worst hit cities in Europe with regard to the coronavirus outbreak, however nobody at Atletico has been affected.
"Fortunately for all the squad, coaching staff and board, we have not had any problems with coronavirus," Cerezo stated.
