Aubameyang ALREADY training with Barcelona after leaving Arsenal

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to have started training with Barcelona despite there being no official announcement of his signing yet.

The striker travelled to Barcelona on transfer deadline day on Monday in anticipation of completing a switch to the LaLiga club after his contract was terminated by Arsenal.

And eagle-eyed journalist Toni Juanmarti spotted Aubameyang in the background of one of the pictures the club put out of Tuesday’s training session.

He reported that Aubameyang spent time alongside Ousmane Dembele during the session, as coach Xavi prepares the side for this Sunday’s home fixture against Atletico Madrid.

Barcelona wrapped up the signing of Aubameyang on an 18-month deal after the termination of his Arsenal contract but an official announcement has been delayed.

He touched down in Spain on Monday morning but there was initially confusion over why he’d travelled with no agreement reached between the clubs at that point.

Aubameyang Arsenal's £350,000-per-week contract was due to expire next summer, with the remaining time worth around £27million.

Arsenal were willing to let their former captain go on a free due to the saving they would make in wages.

Having agreed a settlement as part of the deal, Arsenal anticipate they will save around £20m, it is understood.

There appeared to be little chance of Aubameyang, 32, being reintegrated into the Arsenal team after manager Mikel Arteta stripped him of the captaincy in December following a breach of discipline.

He reported back late to Arsenal after an authorised visit to France and Arteta had not played him since.
