Axel Disasi (25) has completed his medical ahead of his move from AS Monaco to Chelsea. The France international will sign a five-year deal with the London club with the option for a further year, according to Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna.
As initially reported by The Athletic over the weekend, Chelsea reached an agreement over the transfer of Disasi. The deal is thought to be worth around €45m. Monaco were keen to offload Disasi this summer, the player himself was keen on a move to the Premier League, and Chelsea were in the market for a right-sided centre-back following the severe injury sustained by Wesley Fofana.
The deal is expected to be completed imminently after Disasi completed his medical tests in England yesterday. The former Stade de Reims centre-back will sign his Chelsea contract on Wednesday, which will tie him to the club until 2028. There is then an option to extend for a further year. He is set to become the second Frenchman to join the Blues in as many days after Lesley Ugochukwu’s move from Stade Rennais was confirmed on Tuesday.
