In his last five games against Getafe, Bale has scored four goals and has scored Real Madrid's first LaLiga goal for the last three seasons in a row.
Real Madrid debut in LaLiga on Sunday against Getafe. Following the exits of Cristiano Ronaldo, who left for Juventus during the summer, and Zinedine Zidane, who left the bench after Real Madrid's third Champions League in a row, it looks like Gareth Bale will take over from the former and Julen Lopetegui is already in place on the bench.
Bale enjoys playing Getafe and has scored four goals in five games against the team from the suburbs of Madrid. His first game against them came in gameweek 24 of the 2013-14 season and Madrid won 0-3 that day but Bale couldn't get on the scoresheet. He did score his next time out against Sunday's opponents, however, and hasn't stopp scoring since. That game came during the 2014-15 season when they won by three goals again. He would have to wait until the 2015-16 season for his third, which came at the Bernabeu under Rafa Benitez during a 4-1 victory. In the return leg at the Coliseum, Real Madrid won 5-1 and Bale scored the third. Real Madrid's 3-1 win last season saw Bale open los Blancos' account.
Another statistic that puts Bale in good shape heading into Sunday's game is that since 2015, he has been the author of Real Madrid's first LaLiga goal. In 2015-16, he scored the first against Betis in the second game after Real Madrid drew at El Molinon against Sporting Gijon. In 2016-17, Madrid travelled to Anoeta and they beat Real Sociedad 0-3 with Bale scoring twice. Last season against Depor, Bale scored first during a 0-3 victory for the visitors.
