Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has acted to end the controversy which started when Cadena SER claimed the club paid I3 Venturas, a company, to create toxic posts aimed at the board’s enemies. Among those targeted were Leo Messi and Gerard Pique.
Diario Sport reveals Barca have denied that this is true. Bartomeu met the four captains with a dossier of the messages and confirmed to them they had broken ties with the company, making it clear that at no moment the club had told the company to publish these type of messages.
The captains accepted the president’s explanation.
Now Bartomeu will wait for the waters to calm. The team face Napoli next week in the Champions League and are battling with Madrid to win La Liga.
