Barca owned youngster Emerson: I hope to be in the Brazil senior squad

Before the Coronavirus stopped LaLiga in its tracks, Emerson had been one of Real Betis' brightest performers this season.

The Brazilian right-back has featured 24 times for Los Verdiblancos this campaign, scoring three goals and assisting five.

"I've improved in almost every aspect, the technical part, positioning..." he recently told Fox Sports.

"I've learned a lot this season.

"What I've really focused on is my defensive part, which I've grown from 50 to 100 percent in.

"Today, it's difficult to better myself."

Barcelona can bring in the 20-year-old, who has also been capped for Brazil's national team, at the end of 2020/21 season.

"There's a lot of talk about the Selecao, but I'm trying not to listen to too much and focusing on myself," Emerson said.

"I'm improving more and more.

"I hope to be in the Brazil senior squad, I've already been called up once.

"I'm learning and I'm working in order to improve."

Emerson shared videos of how he's training at home during the suspension of LaLiga and he knows the importance of staying fit.

"We are the mirror for many people who need to be told to take care of themselves," he said.

"Meanwhile, we have to care for our physical shape at home to be fit for when the action returns at any point.

"Furthermore, we have to keep up a good diet to be at 100 percent."

It seems that Emerson is doing so much right as he looks to follow in the footsteps of Dani Alves by dominating on the right wing for Barcelona and Brazil.
