It is a phrase that has been associated with Barcelona since former club president Narcís de Carreras coined it at his nomination speech in 1968.
And now five decades later 'Mes que un Club', a slogan that famously lines the seats of one stand at the Nou Camp, is celebrating its 50th anniversary.
Barcelona have produced a video that outlines the 'More than a Club' motto on their social media channels but the most obvious celebration is taking place at the Nou Camp itself.
The area of the stadium where the slogan is housed has been slightly modified. Large yellow letters in the tiers above and below have been added to the phrase so it now reads: 'What does Mes que un Club mean?'.
Celebrations will be held across the globe in China, Brazil, Indonesia, Japan, Turkey and Mexico as well as the United States where Ernesto Valverde's squad are currently on their pre-season tour.
The online video delves into the team’s famous brand of football as well as other concepts that they insist make Barcelona 'Mes que un Club'.
The club has recently announced the recruitment of its latest member with Brazilian attacker Malcom signing from Bordeaux in a deal worth £45.5million.
The move - £36.5m plus £9m in add-ons - came after the Spanish side gazumped Roma, who had announced the signing of the 21-year-old before he failed to board a flight to the Italian capital.
He has signed a five-year deal until the end of the 2022-23 season and completed a medical earlier on Wednesday.
