Barcelona hosted a farewell ceremony before the game against Villarreal to officially say goodbye to the Mini Estadi, which was home of their B side and the club's women's team.
Although club president Josep Maria Bartomeu didn't attend the event due to illness, several players, coaches and club legends were present.
Former Barcelona players Juan Carlos Perez Rojo, Guillermo Amor, Xavi Garcia Pimienta gave a speech, along with the women's current midfielder Vicky Losada, to recall their experiences from the stadium, with the demolition works set to begin in October.
The Mini Estadi has produced, among others, as many as 70 players who have been crowned European champions, eight World Cup winners, four women's league titles and four gold medallists.
Its demolition process will take six months, and the land will be used to build the new Palau Blaugrana, which will host up to 10,000 spectators to comply with EuroLeague's regulations.
The new Espai Barca complex will consist of the new Palau, the Pequeno Palau, the ice rink and the Escuela Barca facilities, along with a semi-underground bus station.
