Barcelona are pulling out all the stops as they try to convince Matthijs de Ligt to join them this summer.
The Ajax defender is thought to be on his way to Juventus, with the Nou Camp club priced out of a potential move by the wages on offer from them and Paris Saint-Germain.
But, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have not given up on De Ligt and have sent Gerard Pique to speak to him.
De Ligt is on holiday with his girlfriend in the Bahamas ahead of a final decision on which club he will join.
Pique, who is also in the area with girlfriend Shakira, has been asked to speak to the Holland international.
De Ligt could partner up with Pique in central defence if he does make the move to the Spanish giants.
However, there have also been suggestions that Cristiano Ronaldo has been talking to the 19-year-old about moving to Turin.
The forward supposedly told him he would be welcome at the Italian champions when Portugal faced Holland in the Nations League final.
Italian outlet Tuttosport also suggested on their front page that his switch to the Allianz Stadium was a done deal on Wednesday.
It is not thought that De Ligt has penned a contract with any club as of yet.
