Robert Lewandowski reportedly wants to leave Bayern Munich for a new challenge but could be priced out of a move because the Bundesliga side value him at £100million.
Lewandowski, who turns 33 on Saturday, has won 18 trophies since joining Bayern in 2014 and has scored 297 goals in 331 games.
But according to Sky Sports News, the Poland international wants to secure a move to another top European side before reaching the age of 35.
Lewandowski is said to be happy at Bayern and will not do anything to jeopardise his relationship with the club but is said to be frustrated by their reluctance to sell.
The forward is under contract until 2023 but Bayern have not proposed an extension. Lewandowski will be approaching the age of 36 if he stays with the Bundesliga side until the end of his current deal.
His age may make it harder to join another top European club but the Polish star is renowned for keeping himself in the best physical condition.
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola previously described Lewandowski as the most professional person he had ever met.
The prolific striker netted 56 times for club and country last season and his 41 goals in the Bundesliga broke the scoring record which had been held by Gerd Muller since the 1971-1972 campaign.
Lewandowski fuelled speculation that he could leave Bayern back in May after admitting he is curious about experiencing a different culture and learning a new language.
He told French TV channel Canal+: 'I remain open-minded. I feel very good at Bayern, the city is superb, it's a great club.
'I am always curious to learn a new language, a new culture. But whether it will be in football or after my career, even I don't know.'
Chelsea and Barcelona have previously been linked with the forward but a move to either club would now appear unlikely.
Barca are in the midst of a financial crisis while Chelsea have just spent £98m on Romeu Lukaku.
