Bayern consider former Leipzig coach Rangnick as Kovac replacement (SportBild)

  /  Geralt

Rangnick would be the likeliest candidate at Bayern should the club decide to part ways with Kovac.

The name of Rangnick has already been discussed internally before last season's Pokal final with recommendation from Rummenigge. Uli Hoeness however stopped the discussion back then & supported Kovač. Rangnick would be interested in taking charge at Bayern.

Niko Kovač is losing his biggest supporter in Uli Hoeness on 15 November and Rummenigge will be in charge. KHR has been critical of Kovač since last season and if the bad results and performances continue, the club has a serious alternative: Ralf Rangnick

José Mourinho has been flirting with Bayern however he has no chance of being appointed by the club. His last season at Manchester United has damaged his reputation in Munich.

Rangnick has previously coached Bundesliga clubs VfB Stuttgart, Hannover 96, Schalke 04 and 1899 Hoffenheim, taking the latter from the Regionalliga Süd to the top division in two seasons. Rangnick was influenced by Helmut Gross, Ernst Happel, Valeri Lobanovski, Arrigo Sacchi and Zdeněk Zeman, and influenced a generation of football coaches in Germany, such as Julian Nagelsmann.
