Ben Davies gave an interview to the club's official media after signing a contract extension with Tottenham Hotspur.

On contract extension:
"It really feels like home here. It's been a massive part of my football journey. And yeah, I'm just so grateful for everything the club has given me in my career so far. I picked up quite a bad injury earlier on in the season, and the club's actually been really good to me. When you get injuries like I had, it keeps you out for three or four months, and it makes you even hungrier to come back and do what I love. Other things are results of playing good football first, and I still have the desire to play. The hardest part of it was not being able to contribute on the pitch, because I felt that in some difficult moments, I really could have helped the team. In those difficult moments, you feel you need some steady and calm heads. And I think, yeah, I was confident that I could have brought that to the team, but I couldn't do that by playing on the pitch. But I hope I helped the lads off the pitch as well.
On the new head coach:
"When a new head coach comes in, the first thing you want to do is make an impression in the first training session, make an impression in the first game, you want to make an impression and show what you can do on the pitch. But obviously, I didn't get that opportunity this year. My first conversation with him was probably acknowledging that I couldn't help him on the pitch, which was tough. So I attended almost every meeting, was present at almost every game, just trying to be there for everyone and help them as much as I could. Seeing him come here and elevate this group of players who were in a very, very difficult situation at the time, he elevated us, elevated the fans, elevated the club. Having his presence and his confidence, after successfully crossing the finish line and getting the job done, we felt much more relaxed. The work he's done has been incredible, but I'm excited to see what else he can bring to this club in the future. He has an incredible passion for every minute detail. Honestly, it's a joy to see his new ideas every day. This isn't just on a footballing level, it's on an emotional level too. He's very clever, he knows when players need encouragement, he knows when they need to be told off, he senses what's needed at the right moment, and he hasn't made a single mistake so far.
On himself:
"I didn't want to do anything too different from what I do every day, I didn't want to seem inauthentic. I just tried to be myself and be around the team as much as possible. Sometimes that might just be a small conversation, trying to build someone's confidence, or a tactical tweak that I've noticed from playing for so many years that might help. I think, being a voice in that dressing room, we have a lot of young lads who maybe aren't the most vocal people, and sometimes you need someone who is willing to speak up, just to try and lift the atmosphere or add a bit of confidence. I felt that having people like myself and people like Maddison in the team was really helpful.
Even if we couldn't contribute as much on the pitch as we would have liked, we all agreed on our commitment to this club. You could see what it meant to them, and how much they supported and carried us through that difficult period at the end of our season. I think I feel the same way, I am unreservedly and wholeheartedly committed to this club. I will give everything for this club, just like when they come to watch games or watch them on TV all over the world. For people, it's like their life, they live and breathe for it. I'm fortunate enough to be involved from the inside. Everything they gave us at the end of the season was incredible, and it was a very, very huge boost. I think it really brought us closer together as a team. Sometimes in difficult times, you see people's true colors. I think the fans really stepped up and supported us, and that's what true fandom is, right? We stick together through thick and thin. So, I want to say thank you, and yes, hopefully we can have an even better year next season.
