In an Instagram story, Karim Benzema showed his support for Vinicius Jr, runner-up in the 2024 Ballon d'Or. The Frenchman, winner in 2022, posted a photo of his former teammate with the caption "too strong" when Eduardo Camavinga maintained that he was "the best player in the world".
As usual, Karim Benzema was mystical and indirect in getting his message across. On his Instagram account, the 2022 Ballon d'Or winner posted a photo of himself hugging Vinicius Jr. It was accompanied by the caption "too strong" and three frozen face emojis, while his former teammate finished second in the trophy standings on Monday evening.
On X, Eduardo Camavinga regretted a choice that he considered political. "My brother, you are the best player in the world and no award can say otherwise. I love you my brother." The Brazilian finished second, potentially paying for a missed Copa America, while the winner Rodri was elected best player of the Euro.
