According to Real Madrid TV, Bernardo Silva said that once Real Madrid made an offer, he did not hesitate to join.
The Portuguese midfielder completed his medical on Monday and took part in Real Madrid's two training sessions that day, marking his first day working with José Mourinho at Valdebebas.
Bernardo Silva told Real Madrid TV: "When Real Madrid came along, there was no way I could say no. I didn't think twice."
The 31-year-old Bernardo Silva joined Real Madrid after leaving Man City. He said the opportunity to join Real Madrid and be closer to his family and Portugal made the decision very simple.
He said: "I have played against Real Madrid many times, and you can feel the importance of this club and what it means to be here. Playing for the best club in football history is a dream because the number of championships speaks for itself, and it is an honor."
Bernardo Silva also made it clear that he understands the standards awaiting him. In the club questionnaire, he described Real Madrid in one word: "Champions." He also added that winning is a requirement at this club.
Bernardo Silva described himself as a team player who wants to make his teammates better and can play in different positions. He said: "I will be ready for everything Real Madrid needs."
