Rayan Cherki and Bradley Barcola have been heavily linked with moves to Chelsea this summer following their impressive performances for Olympique Lyonnais
Chelsea have been given a major boost to their hopes of signing Rayan Cherki and Bradley Barcola this summer. The Olympique Lyonnais duo have been heavily linked with moves to Stamford Bridge this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to further bolster his frontline.
It's believed that Joe Shields was prominent in negotiations after recently playing a major role in bringing Romeo Lavia to Cobham. However, despite the Blues' best efforts, Crystal Palace capitalised on the interest in Olise and tied him down to an extension at Selhurst Park.
It remains to be seen whether Chelsea push forward to sign the £59.7million-rated duo, but Lyon appear to have already signed a replacement just in case. According to Fabrizio Romano, Ernest Nuamah has completed his medical ahead of a loan, with an obligation to buy, to the French outfit.
The report states that Lyon will pay Danish Superliga side Nordsjælland €25million, plus €5million in add-ons for the 19-year-old forward. Nuamah, who will reportedly sign a five-year deal at the Groupama Stadium, has already scored four goals in four games this season as a right-winger.
Interestingly, both Cherki and Barcola have often featured on the right flank for Lyon in recent times. While the Ghana international may have just been brought in by Lyon to deputise the duo, his arrival certainly gives Chelsea fresh hope of securing their signature in the coming days.
