Danish coach of Mainz 05, Bo Henriksen, has been voted Coach of the Year in German football ahead of Bayern Munich's Vincent Kompany.
Bo Henriksen has received further proof of his remarkable success as head coach of the German club Mainz 05 as he has been named Coach of the Year by the German players' association, which consists of more than 1,400 members.
Henriksen collected 25.7 percent of the votes, thus distancing Bayern Munich's head coach Vincent Kompany, who received 22.2 percent of the votes.
Henriksen thus takes his place on the sidelines of Team of the Year, which consists of a star parade of players such as Harry Kane, Jamal Musiala, Florian Wirtz, Joshua Kimmich and Michael Olise.
Henriksen led Mainz to sixth place in the Bundesliga last season, which was enough to qualify Mainz for the European club competitions for the first time since the 2016/17 season.

Mainz was second to last in the Bundesliga in serious danger of being relegated last season, when Henriksen took over the club in February 2024 after Jan Siewert was sacked with less than ten matches left to play.
After an excellent start to his job, Mainz secured survival and a 13th place. Under the leadership of Henriksen continued their search up the table and even had a chance to qualify for the Champions League this season before a slight dip in form saw them slip slightly down the table.
In March, the former head coach of Bronshoj, AC Horsens, FC Midtjylland and FC Zurich won the award for Danish Coach of the Year for the first time in his career.
