Boehly could offer Ronaldo a way out of Man United turmoil in January

Chelsea co-controlling owner Todd Boehly may be open to signing Cristiano Ronaldo in January.

Boehly has forged a close relationship with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes and was interested in signing the 37-year-old from Manchester United in the summer, but found opposition from then Blues boss Thomas Tuchel.

But the American billionaire is set to re-visit his interest in Ronaldo in January as Manchester United look to offload the Portuguese.

It remains to be seen whether Tuchel's replacement Graham Potter would be open to signing Ronaldo.

United boss Erik ten Hag has banished Ronaldo from first-team involvement after the forward stormed out of Old Trafford before the full-time whistle and refusing to come on as a substitute against Spurs.

Ronaldo has been available for transfer since the summer but there has not been any serious interest in the former Real Madrid star.
