According to Brazilian media Globo Esporte, Inter Miami is close to signing Filipe Riquelme from Palmeiras for a transfer fee of $5.5 million to $6 million.
The 19-year-old forward signed documents on Monday to complete his transfer from Palmeiras to Major League Soccer's Inter Miami.
Only bureaucratic procedures remain to officially finalize the deal. MLS has different regulations than other leagues and must review and approve all transfer documents involving its clubs.
The deal involves the sale of 60% ownership, with Palmeiras retaining 40% of future sale proceeds. The transfer fee is approximately $5.5 to $6 million (roughly 28.5 to 31.1 million Brazilian Reais).
Riquelme must also complete visa procedures to travel to the United States. His team estimates that this process will take approximately ten days, after which he will depart for the U.S.
