Bruno Fernandes Man Utd transfer could happen, admits Sporting boss

Sporting Lisbon head coach Marcel Keizer admitted that he's in the dark over the future of star midfielder Bruno Fernandes, who has been strongly linked with Manchester United this summer.

Fernandes' name has become one of the most discussed of the transfer window, as suggestions that United have been meeting with his agents have done the rounds almost daily.

United themselves have stayed tight-lipped on the rumours, as the Old Trafford club focus on the more pressing transfer business surrounding the futures of the likes of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.

Fernandes added fuel to the fire over a potential move by appearing to break down in tears after Sporting's friendly against Valencia in Lisbon on Sunday, with many claiming that represented a goodbye to a club he's played for the last two years.

"We'll see if we can keep our players and then we'll see what we do," said Keizer after the game, which Sporting lost 2-1 to the La Liga outfit.

"I hope he [Fernandes] stays, of course, like everyone else at Sporting, but we don't know."
