Coach gives nod and board wants to anticipate World Cup result
The CBF board has plans to renew coach Carlo Ancelotti's contract before the 2026 World Cup. The idea is to plan for the next cycle without depending on the outcome of the tournament.
So far, Ancelotti has indicated that he would like to remain in the position. On the management side, Samir Xaud's desire for Ancelotti to stay has not yet been translated into action.
In addition to the CBF president, director Gustavo Feijó will also be heard, as well as executive Rodrigo Caetano, who has become the figure closest to Ancelotti since the Italian took office.
The coach's hiring during Ednaldo Rodrigues' administration was a direct move by the former president, with the presence of intermediary Diego Fernandes, who is now out of the business.
Brazil faces South Korea on Friday in a friendly match in preparation for the World Cup. Next week, the match is against Japan.
