After Spain's opening FIFA World Cup match ended in a 0-0 draw against Cape Verde, former Spain international goalkeeper and current COPE radio commentator Cañizares shared his views.
Cañizares said after the match: "Spain needs a coach who is good at intervening and making decisions, putting the players in the best form into the starting lineup. Only Cucurella, Llorente, Pedri, and Yamal played up to standard; everyone else was far from their best."
Cañizares also stated that the Spanish team's FIFA World Cup start did not give much hope to the outside world: "Everything that is happening right now gives no hope." The commentator said pessimistically.
