The former footballer and coach, who won the Scudetto and the Champions League 1993-94 with Milan, believes that Inzaghi's team have made a mistake at the end of the season: "They have thought too much about the Champions League"

Fabio Capello, former coach of Milan, Roma and Juventus, among others, gave an interview to the 'Gazzetta dello Sport' in which he especially criticizes the final stretch of the season starring Inter Milan, who have lost in Serie A by focusing everything on the Champions League, in his opinion. In Italy they are second, three points behind Napoli.

"They have lost options especially because they have not been very humble or perhaps simply because they have thought too much about the Champions League. The Nerazzurri are the strongest team in Italy and at one point they were three points ahead. Then, Inzaghi over-rotated and the players showed less desire to exert themselves. Some rivals were treated lightly...", he says.

Capello adds that "compared to my time, the pressure has increased. Especially if we think about media coverage and social networks. Nowadays, a footballer has a harder time conserving mental energy. The secret to reaching the end in a position to win everything is mental strength. In those years there were no rotations, the squads were shorter and there was no possibility of making five changes, like today. The concept of rest was null. The best always went out on the field, unless someone had serious physical problems. So it's not that my Milan had more energy, if anything they had champions with the right mentality. Humble players, despite the many victories, who were not satisfied and faced each game as if it were a final".
