Cardiff City 1-2 Huddersfield: Warnock's side 1 point from Championship safety

Huddersfield are just one point away from securing their Championship safety after holding on to beat Cardiff City 2-1 in Wales.

Neil Warnock's side laboured for an hour and there was little encouragement that they would get an all important victory until Romaine Sawyer's error in possession gifted substitute Joseph Hungbo the opening goal.

Huddersfield then sprung into life and doubled their lead eight minutes later through a Jack Simpson own goal, but there was a late twist as Cardiff pulled one back through substitute Isaak Davies.

However, the visitors were able to hold on to boost their chances of survival ahead of their remaining games against already-promoted Sheffield United and relegation rivals Reading.
