Carlo Ancelotti has announced his second Brazil squad, making several bold choices ahead of the Selecao’s final two 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Bolivia in September.
The Italian coach left out Neymar, Vinicius Jr, and Rodrygo and Eder Militao. Neymar, who recently had a minor fitness issue, was not considered, with Ancelotti explaining that Brazil already know what he can offer. Instead, the coach opted to test fresh options.
Among the notable inclusions are Lucas Paqueta, who returns to the squad, and Cruzeiro forward Kaio Jorge, the only new face. Marquinhos, Bruno Guimaraes, Joelinton, Raphinha, and Richarlison are also part of the group.
Chelsea youngster Estevao is also inclueded.
"This group must have a fixed core of players who will be important for the World Cup. Around this core, we need to test players who could make the final squad in the future," Ancelotti said.
Brazil, already qualified for the 2026 World Cup, face Chile at the Maracana on September 4 before traveling to Bolivia on September 9.
