Catalan president: It will take time before we're back at Camp Nou

The president of the Generalitat de Catalunya, Quim Torra, sees the return to Camp Nou being a long way off - at least for supporters.

The Catalan president insisted on the necessity of maintaining total confinement and said that the return to normal life is not going to happen any time soon. He spoke to RAC1, and also said it was important for people to wear masks and gloves on the street.

"We will take time to go back to Camp Nou and we have to tell that to the citizens, however tough it may be," he explained. "And it will take a long time for us to go back to Sonar (festival).

"It's possible that from here in a few weeks we can go back to restaurants with security measures. It will be a summer in which there are no homework, in which there's nature, that we find each other again. It's possible there will be a happy summer. What better answer for the people of Catalonia than to do tourism within Catalonia. It will be a year to rediscover our land with hotels and rural houses that have distancing measures.

"I want the use of gloves and masks in public spaces to be obligatory."
