Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain shared a picture on Instagram of him posing alongside his England and Liverpool team-mates Jordan Henderson, Adam Lallana and Joe Gomez dressed as members of The Beatles.

The four team-mates tried to resemble the famous Liverpudlian quartet by wearing black wigs and dressing up in grey suits accompanied by white shirts and black ties as part of an activity they done in aid of Sport Relief.

The biennial charity event from Comic Relief, which brings the worlds of sport and entertainment together to raise money to help vulnerable people in both the UK and the world's poorest countries, will be televised on Friday, March 23.

Oxlade-Chamberlain shared the hilarious picture of the four England players on his Instagram on Thursday.

He captioned the photo: 'Bringing The Beatles back with the lads for Sport Relief, see how we got on tomorrow night. Anyone guess who I was?'.

The 24-year-old is currently in Holland, having flew to Amsterdam for the first of England's two high-profile friendlies.

Henderson, Lallana and Gomez are also in Gareth Southgate's squad for the games against Holland and Italy.

One player who was included but is now a significant doubt to feature in either game is Jack Wilshere.

The midfielder did not travel with the squad to Holland on Thursday after picking up a knee injury in training.

The injury is not thought to be serious and the England boss is hoping he can have Wilshere available for the game against the Italians.

'Jack just felt some tendinopathy in his knee,' Southgate said.

'It's a problem he's had before and nothing too serious. We had the option to bring him out and treat him here or let it settle and keep him back at base.

'It's something he's managed over a long period of time, there are just days when it needs to settle down, it's nothing new to him.

'He's disappointed not to be involved but he's trained well with us and if you think about the journey he's been on in the last couple of years and the big injuries he's had to come back from he's progressing really well.'
