Chelsea fans are praising Antonio Rudiger for wishing Chelsea target Kai Havertz 'Happy Birthday' on Twitter as they believe he is luring the midfielder to the club.

The defender has been dubbed as 'agent Rudiger' after he reportedly helped persuade Timo Werner to join Chelsea in a £53million deal, with wages of £180,000 per week.

With Frank Lampard looking to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Havertz too, fans believe that agent Rudiger is back and used a birthday tweet to help bring the £70m-rated playmaker to Stamford Bridge.

The 27-year-old's tweet to Havertz read: 'Happy Birthday my brother @kaihavertz29'

Fans were quick to notice his kind words to the Chelsea target, suggesting it was a ploy to encourage Havertz to agree to a future at Stamford Bridge.

One fan said: 'He knows exactly what he's doing, I'm convinced.'

Another wrote: 'Already secured us Werner and now on to Havertz! Agent Rudi is back.'

Rudiger has been partly credited for the signing of Werner as he reportedly made a special call to his international team-mate in a bid to convince him to move to Stamford Bridge.

The pair are close friends after playing in the youth system at Stuttgart together and making the first team together between 2013 and 2015.

They have also starred alongside each other for Germany since 2017 and lifted the Confederations Cup in Russia in the same year.

Rudiger’s glowing report of Stamford Bridge seemed to work, as the RB Leipzig striker agreed a deal to join the west London club next season in a £53m move.

Rudiger and Havertz also play alongside each other for the Germany national team and fans hope that the Chelsea man may be able to work his magic again.

Havertz has scored five times in four games since the resumption of the Bundesliga following the coronavirus pandemic.

Bayer Leverkusen have, however, announced that Havertz is not for sale but may struggle to keep hold of him with Europe's elite pressing to sign him.
