Chelsea star Wesley Fofana reverses drastic decision amid injury update

Chelsea news: Wesley Fofana looks set to miss the majority of the 2023/24 campaign with a severe knee injury

The France international endured a challenging first campaign at Stamford Bridge following his £70million move from Leicester with injuries preventing him from locking down a spot in the team. Fofana enjoyed a run of games towards the end of the season and therefore looked set to hit the ground running and impress whoever Chelsea chose as their next permanent manager.

His recovery at Cobham has since begun, with Fofana changing his main image on the social media platform showing him prior to a Chelsea game. Other stars are also at Cobham with Armando Broja and Benoit Badiashile among those recovering from their own injury issues.

Hakim Ziyech was also left off the pre-season tour and he has also remained in west London with him and Fofana posing for a photo in what looks to be the treatment room.

The future of Trevoh Chalobah still remains unclear with Chelsea willing to listen to offers. Inter Milan have shown an interest in signing the England international, but their current priority is West Ham striker Gianluca Scamacca.
