Chris Eubank Jr has goaded both his upcoming opponent Liam Smith and Liverpool football club by putting up a huge billboard in Manchester.

The two British boxers are set to face-off at the AO Arena in Manchester on January 21st as part of Eubank Jr's three-fight plan in place for 2023.

And ahead of the bout, middleweight Eubank Jr has begun playing mind-games on his rival by claiming that the Liverpudlian will take a 'beating' in their highly-anticipated fight.

Plastered across Europe's second largest digital advertising display, and down the road from United's home stadium Old Trafford, Eubank Jr's message reads: 'It won't be the first time Liverpool have come to Manchester and taken a beating.'

In Liverpool's two visits to the city this season, a league match against Man United and a Carabao Cup tie against Man City, the Reds fell to defeat on both occasions.

Against Erik ten Hag's United they lost 2-1 after a comprehensive display from the hosts and in their trip to the Etihad, Jurgen Klopp's side were dispatched 3-2.

The two British fighters will share the boxing ring in just seven days time as Eubank looks to extend his current six-fight win-streak and set-up a bout with Gennadiy Golovkin.

Joining the two fighters on the blockbuster night of boxing will be Ekow Essuman vs Chris Kongo for the British & Commonwealth, IBF European and WBC International Silver Championships.

Richard Riakporhe will battle with former two-time WBO cruiserweight world champion Krzysztof Głowacki and local lad Jack Massey will step up to face former WBO world heavyweight champion, Joseph Parker.

Eubank Jr recently called for Conor Benn to apologise to fans for failing a drugs test in the build up to their highly-anticipated fight.
