According to L’Équipe, Christophe Galtier has two games to save his job as Paris Saint-Germain manager after a poor run of form threatens their league title.
PSG have lost 8 out of their 18 matches in all competitions since the beginning of 2023. Consecutive defeats in Ligue 1, the first against Stade Rennais just before the international break, and the second against Olympique Lyonnais just after has allowed Olympique de Marseille and RC Lens to get within six points of the league leaders.
Les Parisiens face a trip to face OGC Nice on Saturday, before hosting RC Lens, perhaps a genuine title contender, the following week. Galtier’s short-term future as PSG manager will be decided by these games, and if their title becomes under further threat, he will be fired.
Regardless, Galtier’s long-term future looks sealed. If PSG are successful in convincing the right man to succeed Galtier on the Parc des Princes bench, the former Nice manager will leave the club. Galtier’s hope is that Les Parisiens don’t manage to find a suitable replacement.
