Recently, according to the Argentine newspaper Olé, the Estudiantes de La Plata team encountered a violent scene unrelated to football on their way to the Juan Carmelo Zerillo Stadium to participate in the La Plata derby in the 5th round of the Argentine Premier League Spring League.

Before entering the stadium gate, the team bus was attacked by Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata fans throwing stones and bottles. The bus body was hit and the windows were broken.
In this incident, Marcos Angeleri, the sports director of Estudiantes de La Plata, was cut on his arm and became the only injured person.
"It was right here, about 15 meters away. We had a smooth drive all the way from the training base, and there were no problems until the roundabout. But before entering the gate, they started throwing stones and bottles at us, and even the windshield was smashed." The team driver recalled with lingering fear. According to him, the journey was normal until the scene of the incident, and the violence suddenly occurred at that key location.
The driver also explained that police motorcycles usually escort the bus on both sides to prevent similar incidents. "I am often responsible for the team's travel, and the police motorcycles should be driving close to the bus to avoid this kind of situation," he said. In addition, on the last section of the road approaching the stadium, the traffic space was greatly compressed due to the streets being full of parked vehicles, and the vehicle operation space was limited.
In the chaos, the most thrilling scene occurred when a person suddenly rushed in front of the car. "I kept driving forward, but almost hit someone who suddenly stood in front of me. He almost lunged at the windshield. I had to brake suddenly, otherwise I would have hit him," the driver said.
The match eventually ended in a 0-0 draw between the two teams.
