‘Los Ticos’ are heading to Qatar after beating New Zealand in the intercontinental play-off with coach Luis Fernandez Suarez naming his squad.
Costa Rica will participate at their sixth World Cup as they head to Qatar next week with ‘Los Ticos’ pitted in a tough Group E along with Germany, Spain and Japan. Ahead of two pre-World Cup warm up games against Nigeria and Iraq, head coach Luis Fernandez Suarez named his 26-man-squad for the tournament in the Gulf.
There were no major surprises in the selection with the squad featuring a blend of younger talent along with veterans such as: Navas, Ruiz, Tejeda and Borges.
