Cristiano Ronaldo has shown his dedication to giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime experience after climbing through bushes to take a selfie with supporters.

The Portuguese superstar is set to kick-start his nation's Euro 2024 campaign against Czechia on Tuesday evening and has already been garnering plenty of attention in the build-up to the match.

Several of Portugal's public training sessions sold out last week as fans clamoured to catch a glimpse of the 39-year-old, with his presence in Europe increasingly rare with Ronaldo playing the majority of his football in Saudi Arabia.

One youngster even sprinted onto the pitch during a recent team practice to try and get a picture with the ex-Man United and Real Madrid star before being escorted off the pitch by security.

Ronaldo typically likes to keep a low profile at major tournaments as he tries to maintain focus on upcoming fixtures, but was happy to oblige with a delighted group of fans in the build-up to Tuesday's European Championship clash.

Protected behind a metal fence, Ronaldo could have easily ignored a request for a photo but decided to go the extra mile to pose for a selfie that later went viral online.

Such was his commitment to keeping supporters happy, Ronaldo had to awkwardly climb through a bush to get near the eagerly-waiting supporters.

After navigating his way through the tricky terrain, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner smiled and posed for a photo with three fans who couldn't believe their luck.

Ronaldo looked delighted to have been able to meet the Portuguese supporters who appeared to be the only fans in the vicinity as they got a special one-on-moment with one of football's greatest-ever players.

He then returned to join the rest of his team-mates as Portugal's 8pm kick-off time looms closer.

The Al-Nassr striker is expected to start Portugal's opening group game of Euro 2024 after an impressive goalscoring season in the Saudi Pro League where he set a new record for the most goals in a single season.

Ronaldo previously helped guide his country to competition success in Euro 2016, with this year's edition of the UEFA tournament expected to be his last.
