Al Nassr and Portugal striker Cristiano Ronaldo wraps his activity in 2024 signing off with another strike to make it 43 goals for the calendar year.
Ronaldo was on target once again bringing Al Nassr level just 90 seconds after the Frenchman opened the scoring but a late strike from Steven Bergwijn ensured that the points stayed in Jeddah and the defeat sees Al Nassr slip further behind their direct rivals in the title race.
2024 will always be special for Cristiano Ronaldo and despite Al Nassr struggling domestically, this was the year when the veteran striker bagged his 900th goal. Since the September strike with Portugal in the UEFA Nations League, CR7 has gone on to add a further 16 goals to the tally and ends the year on 916 total career goals.
With 54 goals, Cristiano Ronaldo became the top scorer of the year 2023, but this time around he has come up against a formidable rival in Viktor Gyökeres with the Swedish striker already hitting the net an incredible 60 times for club and country in the current calendar year. There are also still five matches for the Swede to play with his club Sporting CP in the Portuguese league, Portuguese Cup and UEFA Champions League.
CR7 on 916
Cristiano Ronaldo is 39 years old and will turn 40 next February. His dream of reaching 1,000 career goals is not out of the question assuming that the man from Madeira can avoid staying injury-free.
Ronaldo’s 2025 action gets underway on 9 January as his Al Nassr side face Al Akhdoud in the Saudi Pro League in Riyadh.
