Cristiano Ronaldo narrowly avoided injury after he was almost taken out by an excited pitch invader.
The Portuguese superstar was finishing his warm-up ahead of the Saudi Pro League leader's clash with Al-Taawoun when he was forced to jump out of the way of the fan. Footage shows the pitch invader slipping and sliding into the spot where Ronaldo was standing.
Ronaldo had, luckily, spotted the oncoming fan, and the 37-year-old had been able to take evasive action. The fan was taken away by stewards, with some help from Luiz Gustavo, as they pinned them down and carried him away from Ronaldo.
One fan questioned: "Was he intentionally injuring Cristiano Ronaldo..!?"
"Ronaldo needs to be really careful with these crazy fans," a second added. While a third tweeted: "Wtf is wrong with the fan, Ronaldo could have been injured!"
And a fourth added: "Didn't this happen to Adrian at the Super Cup or was it one of his own teammates?"
Al Nassr ended up 2-1 winners on Friday evening, but Ronaldo - who played the entire 90 minutes - wasn't on the scoresheet.
However, Ronaldo did provide an assist when he found Abdulrahman Ghareeb in the 17th minute to open the scoring.
