Cristiano Ronaldo is heading back to Spain. The Portuguese icon will suit up for Al-Nassr on August 10 in a preseason friendly against Almería, a match that marks the Spanish club’s official home unveiling ahead of the new season.
The exhibition game is part of Almería’s summer schedule and will be held at the Power Horse Stadium, where fans will get to see former Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo take the field in Spain for the first time since turning out for Manchester United against Real Sociedad in the Europa League in November 2022.
Last summer, Almería and Al-Nassr also met in a preseason clash, which ended in a 3–0 win for the Spanish side. However, Ronaldo didn’t play on that occasion, watching from the stands alongside Aymeric Laporte.
This will be Ronaldo’s fifth appearance at Almería’s stadium, where he previously scored four goals across four visits as a Real Madrid player. He won’t be the only star on the pitch either—Al-Nassr’s squad also features former Liverpool winger Sadio Mané, Croatian midfield general Marcelo Brozović, and Portuguese playmaker Otávio, with seasoned coach Jorge Jesus now at the helm.
When is Cristiano Ronaldo returning to play in Spain?
The game takes place at 7:00 p.m. local time (1:00 p.m.) on Sunday, August 10, nine days before Al Nassr face Al Ittihad in the Saudi Super Cup semifinals on August 19.
Tickets for the friendly go on sale Tuesday, with Ronaldo’s presence undoubtedly pushing prices up.
The CR7 effect on ticket prices for friendly
Season ticket holders will need to pay a symbolic fee of €10 to attend, while general admission prices range from €60 (end zone) to €90 (sideline) and €120 (main stand). Premium seating is also available, with VIP boxes priced at €250 and seats in the honor suite going for €400.
Fans eager to see one of the game’s greats back on Spanish soil are expected to pack the stadium.
