Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly decided that he wants to finish his career at Sporting CP, the club where it all started for him.
The 36-year-old has a contract at Juventus until 2022, but rumours continue to swirl about a possible move this summer.
The Portuguese newspaper Record led with Cristiano Ronaldo's desire to return to Sporting on their front page, while they also note that the five-time Ballon d'Or winner wants to continue playing until he is 40 years old. His family would support the move to Sporting, too.
Real Madrid and Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo has shown his inclination to return to Real Madrid, who he left in the summer of 2018, but despite Jorge Mendes' formal offer to the Spanish club they are not planning on reuniting with the Juventus goalscorer.
Another team that Cristiano Ronaldo has been often linked with is Manchester United, who he left in 2009 to join Real Madrid. La Gazzetta dello Sport reported a few days ago that the Portuguese forward would be willing to lower his salary demands in order to force through a return to Old Trafford.
But now Sporting have entered the battle. Curiously, all three of the teams most strongly linked with Cristiano Ronaldo are all clubs that he used to play for.
