The Chief Executive Officer of Juventus says his heart goes out to Cristiano Ronaldo amid his current struggles at Manchester United - but distances his club from the problems in England.
Ronaldo spent three years with the Turin-based club, before returning to Old Trafford last summer.
However, not everything has been rosy about Ronaldo's second stint with the Red Devils, and it was clear that the Portuguese megastar wanted to leave the club in search of Champions League football.
The transfer window has closed with Ronaldo remaining a Manchester United player, and he has been dropped for their last three league games by manager Erik ten Hag.
Juventus CEO Maurizio Arrivabene, who has held the position since November of last year, said he sympathises with the 37-year-old's plight, noting his club parted Ronaldo on good terms.
Arrivabene, 65, told DAZN: 'We are sorry to see him in such a situation that is not pleasant for him and for the team.
'We separated ways at Juventus with mutual respect.
'We are sorry for what's happened to him in Manchester this year, but it's not our problem.'
It remains to be seen how ten Hag utilises Ronaldo in the club's coming Premier League and Europa League fixtures, and his opportunities may be further limited by the arrival of Antony as an option up front.
Sportsmail reported that Ten Hag also came out and said that fitness was another question mark over Ronaldo, after the 37-year-old missed a significant chunk of pre-season football.
Meanwhile, Juventus have started their Serie A campaign on an unbeaten streak, with two wins and three draws so far, including Saturday's 1-1 result at Fiorentina.
