Former Liverpool player Crouch believes that signing Barcola would be a good deal for his former club.
Former Liverpool striker Crouch stated that Barcola would be an excellent signing, provided Liverpool and PSG can agree on a transfer fee. The 23-year-old French forward is moving closer to joining Liverpool, but the two clubs have not yet reached an agreement on the fee. Personal terms are not expected to be an issue. PSG are also actively looking for a replacement for Barcola. Ferran Torres and Mika Hauths have already transferred from Barcelona to Paris, further pushing Barcola down the pecking order. Transfer expert Romano stated that Liverpool's confidence in signing Barcola before the transfer window closes is growing.
Crouch is very excited about his former club’s potential signing of the two-time Champions League winner. He said: "He is a very talented player, and if this deal goes through, it will be very good for Liverpool." If Barcola joins Liverpool, Gakpo, who also plays on the left wing, might leave. Tottenham are interested in the Dutchman, but Liverpool are unlikely to let him go until they find a replacement. Crouch added: "It looks like they will let Gakpo go, probably to Tottenham, so they need a top winger to step up. Barcola is a player I really like. In terms of goals, no one can replace Salah, but he is incredibly talented and would be a good signing. PSG have top wingers in Kvaratskhelia and Doue, so it's hard for Barcola to play 90 minutes consistently, but I think he can get into the starting lineup of most teams in Europe."
Regarding Gakpo's potential transfer to Tottenham, Crouch believes the deal makes sense. The winger scored only 7 Premier League goals for Liverpool last season, but he hopes to regain his best form. Tottenham, meanwhile, need to significantly improve their performance after narrowly avoiding relegation in 2026. Crouch continued: "Tottenham would be a great fit for him. He would play very well there, go straight into the squad, and become one of the main players. Attack has clearly been an issue for Tottenham in recent seasons. Especially last year, they lacked a lot of creativity and goals. Gakpo can definitely bring something different to the team."
