DFB President Fritz Keller strongly condemned the defensive banners against Hoffenheim's patron Dietmar Hopp during the Bundesliga game between TSG and Bayern Munich (0-6).
"We have hit rock bottom. We have hatred and jealousy in our society and now in football. We all have to pull together now. We have to take action now. It can't go on like this," said Keller late on Saturday evening Sports studio at ZDF.
Keller praised the reaction of the two teams at the Sinsheim stadium. "I think it's a disaster and I just want to heap praise on the two teams, the referees and both clubs on how they acted,"
"Because of the solidarity of these two teams, they have taken some of the responsibility away from the referee. But above all, they have not given the ultras what they wanted, namely to destroy the game and have power over the game I think it's great. Thanks to them who went into the block and tried to stop those ultras."
