Daniel Sturridge bizarrely breaks out into song while praising Kylian Mbappe

Euro 2016 match-winner Daniel Sturridge produced once again, but this time in a very different way, as he bizarrely broke out into song about Kylian Mbappe during an interview.

The former England international is backing the Frenchman to win the Golden Boot at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar after his impressive start to the tournament.

The PSG forward is currently the joint top goalscorer with three goals alongside Ecuador's Enner Valencia.

The 26-cap England forward Sturridge was full of praise for the in-form forward, although his interview turned very bizarre, as he started singing Mbappe's name in the middle of his interview.

Sturridge told Sky Sports via Football Daily: 'For me, he [Kylian Mbappe] will win the Golden Boot, he is a special player.

'Just his abilities, the runs he makes. He is always shooting which is always important.

'People don't really look at that stat as much, but the more you shoot the more goals you score.

'I think he gets himself into positions to score goals and he creates his own goals to score.'

His song, however, will be what everyone talks about rather than his statement on Mbappe as he sang: 'Mbappe, Mbappe, Mbappe, ooohhh.'

This interview is unbelievably just six years on from when Sturridge became a hero briefly for the Three Lions to help them seal a 2-1 comeback against Wales.

The 33-year-old came off the bench at half-time and set up Jamie Vardy for an equaliser before then scoring the winning goal in stoppage time to avoid a shock upset in the group-stages.

Sturridge's career has spiraled downhill since that match as he struggled with injuries at Liverpool until they eventually loaned him out to West Brom before returning to Anfield.

He was then released before having spells at Turkish side Trabzonspor and Australian outfit Perth Glory.
