Arsenal are reportedly close to completing a deal for Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres after months of speculation over whether or not they would sign a striker.
Arsenal are close to finalising a deal to sign Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting CP, The Athletic's David Ornstein reveals.
The final steps have been taken in the negotiations after the striker boycotted the start of the pre-season at Sporting, followed by a public rebuke from club president Frederico Varandas.
It is not reported yet how much Arsenal will pay for the striker, with Sporting having demanded €70m plus €10m in add-ons.
Gyokeres already has a five-year deal with Arsenal lined up. The Gunners have made him their main No.9 target for the summer window.
