Arsenal news: Aaron Ramsdale was at fault for the first goal scored by Southampton against the Gunners on Friday evening
Arsenal got off to the worst possible start in the Premier League clash against Southampton at Emirates Stadium. After less than one minute on the clock, Carlos Alcaraz gave the Saints a shock lead with the goal coming after a major error from Aaron Ramsdale.
With the Gunners enjoying some early possession, Ramsdale attempted a pass into the feet of Oleksandr Zinchenko who had drifted inside. However, his pass was short and intercepted by Alcaraz who finished emphatically.
Ramsdale was the hero against Liverpool but his mistake could prove costly for Mikel Arteta and his side's Premier League title hopes. The error from the 24-year-old has drawn similar comparisons to David de Gea's display for Manchester United in the Europa League against Sevilla.
The Spaniard saw his attempted pass to Harry Maguire intercepted and with Sevilla going on to score. Football fans have now spotted the obvious similarities in the two moments with a brutal verdict on Ramsdale.

Former Arsenal stalwart Theo Walcott then doubled the visitors lead with a smart finish under Ramsdale but Gabriel Martinelli pulled one back for the hosts with a powerful finish.
