David de Gea names two things Manchester United are doing better

David de Gea has hailed the transformation Manchester United have made when out of possession under Erik ten Hag after their cagey win over West Ham.

Marcus Rashford grabbed the only goal of the game with a fantastic header just before half-time, but United were made to dig deep to hold on for the three points following a late push for an equaliser.

As the match ticked towards its conclusion, West Ham threw everything they had forward and were only denied a goal because of some brilliant defending as well as two fine stops from De Gea.

The Spaniard reacted superbly to claw away a header from Kurt Zouma and responded quickly to tip away a fierce effort from Declan Rice in the final seconds of the game.

After the win, De Gea was quizzed on his key role in the victory, but instead looked to praise his teammates and, in particular, the way in which they pressed their opponents high up the pitch.

"It's a great win for us. If we want to achieve and be in the top places we have to win games like this today," he told Sky Sports.

"Of the two saves, probably the header from Zouma was the best because it was almost certainly going in but I am happy for all of them. Happy to make the saves and it's a massive win.

"We are pressing well and recovering the ball well high up the pitch. We conceded some chances at the end but West Ham are a great team. I'm really happy to be honest."
