Declan Rice completed a £105million move to Arsenal last month as the England international became Mikel Arteta's third signing of the summer transfer window
Declan Rice has sent a brilliant message to Arsenal fans following the Gunners' 2-1 win against Nottingham Forest on Saturday. Mikel Arteta's side began the new Premier League season with a victory as they look to close the gap to Manchester City this term.
"The doctors looked at him and they were happy for him to continue, he was as well," the Spaniard said in his post-match press conference. "Straight away in the first action of the second half he made a movement and it was a bit funny.
"We took him out straight after and now we have to assess him and see what he has," Arteta added. The 23-year-old defender has now broken his silence following the injury scare with a message on Twitter, which read: "A win to begin, *tick emoji*".
There is no clear mention of the injury, however the tweet also includes the words 'back soon' in emoji format which hints that the issue may not be a serious one. Arteta will certainly be hoping that is the case as Oleksandr Zinchenko is also recovering from an injury.
Kai Havertz looked bright in spells for the Gunners but it was Declan Rice who really stood out. The England international enjoyed a brilliant debut for Arsenal and sent the perfect message to fans after the win.
After the game, Rice posted on Instagram: "Prem Debut & Win! Enjoy your weekend Gunners."
The 24-year-old had another message for fans on his Instagram story, which read: "Loved every minute of my home debut. Thank you for the incredible support today! Onto the next..."
