When he went back home the tragedy happened at the stairway home. Witsel thought the children's stair door for two daughters was locked.
Unfortunately, he remembered it wrongly. Then he fell headlong down the steps.
Among other things, the unlucky person smashed his nasal bone and had several injuries to his face and mouth.
At first, Witsel was taken to the emergency room of a local hospital. Later, he was transferred to intensive care. His wife Rafaella spent the entire night with him in the hospital.
