Didier Deschamps to stay on as France manager until 2024

Le Parisien report this morning that Didier Deschamps will stay on as France manager for another two years, having reached the objective set out to him before the World Cup of reaching the semi-final of the tournament.

FFF president Noël Le Graët had indicated that Les Bleus’ manager would have his future in his own hands should he lead the team into the last four, and earlier this week reiterated that he wanted Deschamps’ 10-year tenure to go on.

With seemingly no opposition to his reign continuing, Deschamps has decided that he wants to continue until the Euros in 2024 – and try to finally win the continental championship, especially after the defeat in the final at home in 2016.

The manager continues to enjoy the role – given the relative tranquility he gets outside of big tournaments – and believes that the emerging generation – led by Kylian Mbappé – has the potentially to achieve even greater things.
