Match Report

Barcelona survived a second-half Borussia Dortmund onslaught to claim a point in Germany as Marco Reus' penalty was saved by German keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

Jadon Sancho won the penalty after being clipped by Nelson Semedo, but ter-Setegn read Reus' penalty, saving superbly down low to his left.

Lionel Messi came on with 30 minutes to go but struggled to influence proceedings as Dortmund did everything but score - Reus missed again from close range and Julian Brandt rattled the crossbar yet it remained goalless, despite a late opportunity for Messi but his close range shot was blocked.

13' Griezmann comes close!

Griezmann with the first attempt at goal, but his curling effort from the edge of the box takes a deflection and flies wide of the post and out for a corner.

25' CHANCE! Great save by Ter Stegen to deny Reus!

Wonderful play by Dortmund on the edge of the penalty area, Hazard plays a deft ball in-behind the Barca defence, that Reus runs onto, totally unmarked and he just has the keeper to beat.

However, Ter-Stegen makes himself big and makes a superb stop from close range. Best chance of the game.

28' MISS! Hummels' header over the bar

Reus whips the ball into the box and Hummels gets a touch on it, but he sends it high over the crossbar, not troubling Ter-Stegen.

39' CHANCE! Sancho with a great opportunity

Brilliant counter by the hosts, they open up the Barca defence and Alcacer cuts the ball back to Sancho who raced to the edge of the box, unmarked and in plenty of space.

However, the winger skies his effort high over the crossbar, he should be doing better there.

40' SUB! Injured Alba replaced by Roberto

Problem for Barcelona as Alba is down with an injury, it appears to be a hamstring problem and he is replaced by Sergi Roberto.

48' Suarez with a great chance!

Suarez with the best opportunity of the game for Barcelona, he skips past Hakimi down the right-wing and then gets a clear sight of goal, but fails to beat Burki at his near post.

DORTMUND PENALTY! Sancho is clipped by Semedo, he appears to stand on the ankle of the winger as he dribbles the ball past him.

SAVED! Ter Stegen with a terrific save to deny Reus from the penalty spot! The keeper guessed the right way and got a strong hand to it, before then collecting the rebound just in time as it looked like Reus was about to tap home from a couple of yards out.

59' Messi comes off the bench!

Messi, who is making his long-awaited return from injury, replaces Fati 60 minutes into the game.

77' OFF THE BAR! Brandt denied by the woodwork

Reus again, but this time from close range as Brandt drills the ball across the six-yard box and Ter Stegen gets down quickly to stop the flick on from Reus heading into the back of the net.
