Dwight Yorke 'tells Man United to make an £80m raid for Crystal Palace pair'

Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke has told his former club to make an £80m move for two players from Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils are expected to have a major overhaul in the summer, following the arrival of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS.

Improvement is desperately needed with Erik ten Hag's side seventh in the Premier League standings, and after producing an underwhelming performance against Championship side Coventry City to reach the FA Cup final.

They are ranked joint 13th in the Premier League alongside relegation contenders Luton Town for goals scored, with just 47 across 32 games.

And 1998-99 Treble winner Yorke believes United should make a move for Crystal Palace pair Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise to bolster their attacking options.

He told TVSportGuide: 'Man United should go buy two Crystal Palace players right now, Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise, without a doubt.

'Those two young boys are the players Man United need at the club right now.

‘They’re young, great talents and would improve the club. In two or three years time, they would be coming into the best part of their careers and they’d be integrated into the Man United side by then.

‘Olise and Eze are proper players, they have some of the best potential I’ve ever seen. These two kids improve Man United’s attack, without a shadow of a doubt.

‘The deals should be done already, try chucking £80million or something like that for both of them.’

Eze, 25, and Olise, 22, have alerted the interest of top clubs thanks to their performances for the Eagles.

In total, they have recorded 15 goals and nine assists between them in the league this season.

Olise looked set to join Chelsea last summer, but opted to remain with the Eagles, signing a contract which reportedly includes a £70m release clause.

Eze also penned a new deal last November, and recently scored the winner in a rare victory for an away side at Liverpool in the Premier League.

Both men netted in the 5-2 win over West Ham on Sunday and it would take a big offer to persuade Oliver Glasner's side to sell their star assets.
